Food Network Immersion Blender- Worked great...for two months...

I received this blender as a birthday gift and primarily used it to make smoothies each morning, and it just didn't last. I didn't use frozen fruit, always fresh, and the ice was already crushed from my fridge, everything just needed to be blended a little. The attachments (blender or wisk) lock onto the main part that houses the motor and everything is ready to go. The way it locked was very secure, so I was very surprised when the blade separated from the part of the attachement that connects to the motor while it was operating, and completely melted the plastic socket that the attachment locks into(This is the part that spins and turns the attachment). If it was only the attachment that broke I could be more forgiving and replace the attachment, but the fact that it damaged the motor made the entire unit useless. Tossed in the trash and will seek a better option.

I received this as a Christmas present last year. I primarily use it to make fruit smoothies for my kids. I use fresh fruit, and yogurt (no Ice). It worked great until the blender attachment would not come out of the motor. It was unlocked, but would not come out. When I pulled hard enough for it to come out, the insides of the blade shaft came out. THere is no way to put them back in. I can put the blender attachment on and lock it, but the blade and the medal pole that goes into the shaft just keeps falling out. Don't waist your money on this. The plastic cuppling that is on the motor, where the attachments connect also began cracking and fell off after only one month.

There is a plastic coupling between the motor and blender attachment that will certainly break under normal situations with this terrible Food Network blender. I will never buy from Food Network again, this was not engineered to any reasonable standard.
