Very good quality immersion blender

As some other reviews have mentioned, labeling this as a 500 watt unit is a bit inaccurate, as the US version is really only 320 watts. That does not detract from the fact that this is a very effective blender. I have used large commercial sized immersion blenders in a professional kitchen which would be overkill for home use, but the Dualit is perfect for my needs.I have used it for emulsifying salad dressings and blending fruit smoothies. It quickly purees fairly thick soups (gallon-sized quantities in a large stock pot) with no stalling or overheating.I highly recommend it.

I've had this little stick blender for over a year now, and it's still going strong. I've used it for making smoothies, ice blended drinks, soups, whipping egg whites, making whipped cream, and even for making lotions and conditioners (very thick and creamy). I use it on a very regular basis, nearly every day. And, while some reviewers have noted that it gets hot to the touch after only a minute of use, I have not had that problem with mine. It take 3-5 minutes of running it on turbo for it to get hot to the touch. Once it reaches that point, then I have to let it cool off, and run it in pulses if I'm still in the middle of a lotion or soaping project. I've been very pleased with it's performance and would definitely buy a second one if I were doing more soaping projects than what I'm doing now. I would want one for soaping, and one for cooking. It's been a great product, and I hope to have it around for several more years of hard use :)Incidentally, I've had a Braun stick blender and a Thunder stick previously and neither one of them came close to the quality of this one. This one blends ice and fruit so smoothly that it is better than my KitchenAid blender. No ice chunks. Just smooth, creamy drinks. Did I mention how very pleased I am with this product? :D

I researched immersion blenders for a week- ALL of them. Was ready to buy the Bamix for $130 (+tax = $140) at William Sonoma when I zeroed in on this Dualit (English) or the LeEquip (French). Both have high power and 9k-16k RPMS. If the RPMs are not mentioned, don't go there unless you don't need power. I need to mix cottage cheese with flax oil. Neither the $50 Kitchenaid or Cuisinart could do the job. The Bamix is great, but the Dualit at $75 out the door (from Abt) works just as well. Easy stick on and off, not so high as to give arm aches, pretty lightweight, easy cleanup. It even has a turbo button which I haven't needed.
