High quality and performance

Use it for making soups. Cuisinart blew out making a very thick potato soup. Usually don't buy anything on Amazon that has not been reviewed. But took a chance on this because of Amazon's excellent return policy.Likes:1.Metal shaft. 2.Plenty of power. (200 watts) But seems like more. 3.Comfortable to hold and not too heavy. 4.Steel at bottom so it doesn't stain. 5.Variable speed. 6.Turbo button. 7.Five foot cord. Not too long or short. 8.Comes apart for easy cleanup. 9.Does the job in less than half the time of the old one. 10.Two year warranty.Dislikes (not really): It doesn't come with a wall mount. But fit perfectly into the dead Cuisinart's wall mount.The Amazon product description says 300 watts. But on the handle the UL listing says 200 watts. Those are just numbers. This product has so much power I have not had to run it at more than half power. The Turbo button runs it at full speed while pressed. The same speed as if you had the dial turned to max. If you are making soup in a shallow pot be careful with the Turbo button. This blender can really move some liquid.

Do not let the lack of feedback discourage you from purchasing this. It seems to be less popular due to a marginal price point difference from some cheaper competitors. I just got it yesterday and have already used it. I'll try to remember to update this after a long period of time, as I make a lot of soup so it will get plenty of use!First of all, there are only two separate parts. The steel leg locks into the plastic control top. It locks in very securely and I have no worries about it detaching.The blade is covered nicely and my favorite part is that everything around it is "sealed." No worries about getting gunk inside the mechanism. From what I can tell this will continue to be really really easy to clean.The dial at the top allows you to adjust the speed/intensity of the mixing. It's really smooth with no "click" settings--meaning the dial just glides. It's surprising how nice that is. I've found that with a lot of electric mixers, I always want something in between two settings. I experimented by slowly raising this to the maximum and it was indeed a perfectly smooth transition.Cleanup was simple. I just detached the metal leg and washed it. Rinsed, even. No complicated moving parts to assemble.The standout for me is the durability. I can't truly speak for this as I've only had it for a day, but it LOOKS well-made. I definitely recommend this for someone who needs an immersion blender, especially because sometimes the super high 1-speed blenders will over-puree things past what you desire.
