Bamix became the first immersion blender in 1950 Switzerland. It was introduced into the market in Germany in 1955 under the name Zauberstab, also referred to as the magic wand.

Great product...

I finally found a suitable replacement for my Thunder Stick which died after 15 years of use and no longer is in production. I searched long and hard for a versatile stick appliance that can do it all and the Bamix certainly hasn't disappointed me. I use it for everything....I don't even own a counter top blender or food processor. I would recommend this product in a heart beat. I am even thinking about purchasing a second one for our motorhome.

Not as powerful as I anticipated

After doing extensive research on immersion blenders, the Bamix seemed to top the charts. After using it for about about a month now, my biggest annoyance is the particles that get stuck in the blender's beater attachment. Not easy to clean. Also fruits with the exception of bananas do not blend smoothly. Once when I used the grinder attachment I had to hold the blender between my knees tomyank the attachment off! It is quiet and easy to handle, I will give it this much credit. I guess I had higher expectations of the Bamix especially for the price.

I was sent the cheaper white colored immersion blender, not the silver as listed. Otherwise it is a good hand blender.
